Hugo is the CEO of the ORTOGONAL group and one of the founding partners of GROUNDMOTION, where he serves as the General Manager. He has extensive experience, both nationally and internationally, in managing companies within the Engineering and Construction sectors. Over the past 25 years, he has been continuously involved in project management and construction supervision, with a long track record of major projects in the retail and logistics sectors.

Hugo holds a Graduate International Management Program (GIMP) degree in Business Administration from Porto Business School (PBS-UP) and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP). He is also a senior member of the Portuguese Engineers Association (OE).

Ana is the Business Development Manager of the ORTOGONAL group, overseeing the commercial and marketing strategies of all its companies. Over the past 20 years, she has been continuously involved in project management and construction supervision. She has an impressive track record of major projects in the retail, industrial, logistics, housing, and services sectors, and is currently one of the Directors of the company’s North office.

Ana holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minho (EEUM) and is a senior member of the Portuguese Engineers Association (OE).

Rodrigo is also one of the founding partners of GROUNDMOTION. With over 20 years of experience in the design and consultancy fields, he oversees all technical matters within the company’s workflow and is responsible for coordinating the design teams. He also supervises all earthquake-related matters, particularly those concerning the seismic vulnerability assessment and retrofitting of existing buildings.

Rodrigo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic of Porto (ISEP) and a member of the CONSTRUCT-LESE research unit. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP) and is a senior member of the Portuguese Engineers Association (OE).

Emanuel is the youngest of GROUNDMOTION's founding partners. With over 15 years of experience in design and consultancy and an impressive portfolio of major projects, he supervises the design team’s work while ensuring he knows the details of every single project. His natural talent is an inspiration to everyone and unquestionably one of the company’s cornerstones.

Emanuel holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP) and a Postgraduate degree in Steel and Composite Construction from the University of Coimbra (FCTUC). He is also a senior member of the Portuguese Engineers Association (OE).

Ruben joined GROUNDMOTION at its inception. As the company’s BIM Manager, he is responsible for the development and implementation of all modeling processes. Over the past 18 years, he has continuously developed his skills and created several design tools that are now integral to the company’s design workflow. He is never satisfied and is always looking for new ways to produce more and better work with less effort.

Ruben is a BIM certified professional (OE+AcCEdE) and has completed several training courses and certification paths, including the TEKLA Structures detailing course (CESAE) and the .NET programming with C# course (U. Minho).
